CONCLUSION

In the millennium, colorism is still an issue that continues to divide African Americans and other racial and ethnicity groups. Artist have responded to this ongoing problem through a variety of art mediums, aiming to show their audience that the tone of one's skin is irrelevant in today’s society. As a nation living during a time plagued by various societal ills, we must begin to embrace the culture and diversity of each other. We must begin to understand, respect, value, and appreciate the fact that although we are all different, in many ways we are all alike. When individuals become change agents for unity and embrace the diversity of people of color, no longer will the problem of the twenty-first century remain the problem of the color line.
